In fact, it was first published in 1936 and has been continually revised since to stay up to date with current language trends. Clearly, it must be doing something right!

This textbook is so detailed that it will likely be able to answer any doubt, no matter how small, you have about the French language. After all, it is over 1700 pages long. 

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend buying this mega-book (there’s no way you can read all 1700 pages), but if you can access it from a library or online, it is parfait for reference and specific queries.

15. Un Style Certain: Les Mots Pour Écrire

Un Style Certain is a guide written for French speakers to improve their writing skills. It also acts as a great text for learners of French who want to work on these same writing skills. 

Since it is written for French speakers, it requires at least an intermediate comprehension of French to understand.

By providing a variety of literary and journalistic texts, alongside stylistic analysis and vocabulary explanation, French students can truly work on taking their writing skills beyond the advanced level.
